Basketball Tigers Preparing for Exhibition Games

Auburn is into its second week of basketball practice and won't have to wait long to face some outside competition with an exhibition contest scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1st, against the Global Sports All-Stars.

Coach Cliff Ellis has been upbeat about what he has seen so far in practice. "I was very impressed with the way the newcomers meshed with the veterans," Ellis says. "We have a long way to go in a short amount of time, but I feel very confident we will get there."

The Tigers will have two exhibition games before opening the regular season on Friday, Nov. 13th, vs. Southeastern Louisiana at Beard-Eaves Coliseum, which is currently in the final stages of a major remodeling project that includes new seats, a new scoreboard, a video monitor and coaching offices that overlook the arena floor. Auburn's other exhibition game is Friday, Nov. 6th, vs. the Next Level All-Stars.

The Tigers return four starters including last year's leading scorer, All-SEC forward Bryant Smith, who averaged 13.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
